Mountain Safety Training
Backcountry skiing is unfortunately not without risk, with the biggest threat being the chance of being implicated in an avalanche. Approximately 90% of skiers who are buried in an avalanche trigger it themselves, so by developing a greater understanding of this phenomenon through education, you can maximise your chances of staying out of danger, whilst still mastering the correct techniques to search for and recover your friends if the worst should happen. Acquiring and refreshing this knowledge is a right of passage for any serious off piste skier.
