Working between the sailing and skiing industries, autumn often gives me a chance to reflect on the summer season and look towards the winter. I enjoyed another incredible sailing season based in the Solent working alongside partners such as Britannia and Sailing Logic, as well as continuing to look after my own clients and their campaigns. This season has been my most successful to date, claiming a record number of corporate regatta victories, whilst 100% of my private coaching clients achieved the goals they set out at the start of their campaigns. Normally things quieten down towards the end of September, but this year I worked right into October refitting Arthur Logic ready for her trip to the Caribbean. As I write this newsletter, she sits ready to go in Las Palmas for the 2015 ARC. Good luck to her and her crew! At the end of October I packed up my old Land Rover for the annual road trip down to Switzerland. This year it took a relaxed 18 hours non-stop. It's always worth it in the end when I arrive in the mountains I miss all summer. I instantly felt at home! Back down at a lower altitude, I have made the most of the fine weather exploring the rock climbing on offer in the region. Check out the group of photos below showing off what Switzerland has to offer in the autumn. Despite a lack of snowfall to date, the forecast for this weekend predicts close to 2m of snow will fall. It's safe to say Winter is truly upon us. I will once again being looking after my clients here in Verbier, but also in the neighbouring Valais resorts, including Crans Montana and Zermatt. The diary is already filling up by the day so I urge you to let me know your plans, to see what we can achieve together this season. Perhaps you want to perfect your performance on piste, or try something new such as Telemark, night skiing or ski touring. Don't hesitate to get in touch via email (olly@ollynorris.com) to discuss your requirements.
Despite the excitement of the imminent snow, planning is already fully underway for next summer. I have already confirmed a number of campaigns with private clients as well as corporate clients such as Brit Insurance and the Bank of England. It's not too early to start thinking about setting sail again in 2016. Despite having worked for nearly 10 years in both industries as a professional skipper/coach and skier, Olly Norris Performance Coaching is still in its infancy, and I have great aspirations for the next few years. Future projects include the development of adventures and expeditions combining my passions of sailing, skiing and climbing to destinations such as Norway, the Mediterranean and Oman. As a loyal client of mine in previous years I appreciate your ongoing support by reading my content, and sharing your stories and experiences with friends and colleagues. All that remains is for me to wish you the very best for winter 2015/6 whether it involves sailing, skiing or hopefully both!
