Having been back in the UK a matter of days since the end of my winter in Crans Montana, I travelled out to the Port of Olbia on the island of Sardinia to commission two Oyster 56s ready for the summer sailing season. We carried out a mixture of fault finding and repairs including a faulty generator and a diesel heater that kept tripping. 6 straight days of 7am till 10pm was hard work, but a good dose of sun and sea air was a welcome start of season treat!

The 17th-18th May saw the 24th staging of this corporate regatta for the legal industry, and the first major regatta of the 2014 season. I was fortunate enough to be onboard Galahad of Cowes, a brand new (never sailed, let alone raced) Beneteau First 40 owned by Britannia and Sailing Logic, with a team from Linklaters. We didn't feature on the podium but it was a great way to start the season, blessed by sunshine and light winds. The next major regatta is the Lutine Lineslip for the Insurance Sector. Until then, the diary is full of coaching dates, aimed at helping people find success on the water in 2014. I am pleased to announce that I will be taking part in this year's Round the Island Race on board the beautiful Elan 410 Great Scot (http://www.greatscotyachting.co.uk) on the 21st June. I am lucky to have a group from J.P. Morgan Asset Management themselves onboard for this iconic race; an annual favourite in my diary. We have a training day on the 8th of June in the diary, so I will update you on our progress! In the meantime here is a little preview of the race... Now I am back in the UK, I am pleased to put together the programme for this season. I am already to comitted to a number of events but happy to put together a package (provision of professional sailors, coaching, or yacht charter) for those that are interested for the regattas below as well as many others.
